No offence intended to my many Green friends, but this was an holarious contribution to the Budget debate today – it’s pretty rare that Dáil contributions make for genuinely gripping watching, but this amused me (and almost everyone in Leinster House!) no end….
Hoping to get a proper Budget post up in the next day or two. For now, suffice to say that this video is the only time I’ve properly laughed since Lenihan’s speech yesterday….

In fairness, that was lamentable.
Oh, come on. I’ve been talking to people all evening, and even Green friends are admitting privately that it was funny. Not a mastery of oratory, but funny nonetheless….
honestly I really didn’t think it was funny – I rarely find Rabbitte funny, just obnoxious. Just comes across as a cantankerous old git.
I’m a Labour member, and I’m hugely dissapointed to see Dail time wasted on this nonsense. Thank Christ that Rabitte is no longer the party leader.
